London Fashion Week AW18

صورة
London Fashion Week was short and sweet for me this season. I only managed to attend 2 out of the 5 days, which even for me (somoeone with a chronic pain condition) is pretty crappy. My Fibromyalgia has hit me really hard recently and it has severly restricted the amount of work and fun I've been able to have. For the two days I did attend, I of course slayed my outfits and loved what I managed to do/see; so not all was lost! There is a lot of preparation that goes into Fashion Week, maybe I should write a post on this another time? There's the applying for shows, scheduale planning, visiting gifting suites and pre LFW events, the outfit planning and sourcing items from fashion PR companies. For me, I also have to prep for the pain I am going to feel and the lack of rest etc. It's a busy time for me, but becuase I love Fashion Week so much; it's a process I am willing to do every time LFW comes around. Here's what I wore on... Day 1... After recently getting my hai...

Crazy for Camo - Tips for wearing one print, head to toe.

How much Camo print is too much? Well, I wanted to put that question to the test and decided to wear not one, but four types of the well-known print for Day 4 of London Fashion Week. Many people are torn with this print. I personally LOVE it and find myself wearing it a lot during the autumn/winter months. There's something really cool about the khaki tones and the various styles the print comes in. As I mentioned in my previous post here, Marks and Spencer's kindly gifted me some items to wear for this season of LFW and I couldn't resist this * jacquard skir t . If you look closely, you'll see that it's a hummingbird print. At first glance, it looks like camo and I love that! My look started with this skirt and I started putting together any camo items I already owned at home. I tied my lightweight camo jacket around my waist and on top, I kept snuggly with a cropped camo hoody (similar styles here )  If you're wondering where the fourth camo print comes in...

LFW SS18 Day 3 - Outfit

Continuing on from my previous London Fashion Week posts, here is what I wore for Day 3 and boy was it a goodun...in my opinion anyway haha!  Never one to disappoint, I trawled ASOS White for something a little more adventurous than their normal, main range offerings and I came up trumps with this magical asymmetrical top .  I can't explain how amazing this top feels on. It's crisp, structured and really quite bizarre but I think that's why I love it so much. Always on the hunt for more daring fashion pieces, I am obsessed with this top and I cant tell you how many compliments I had about it. I wear a 20/22 in tops and I ordered the size 18 in this and I was more than comfortable in it.  I wanted my Day 3 LFW look to be minimal, chic and classy and I feel like this top and wide leg trouser combo did me proud! The trousers are an old M&S offering but here are some that are similar. I wore some old Adidas Superstar Bolds  because, as you know I love these trainers and ...

LFW SS18 Day 2 - Outfit

A very brief day at London Fashion Week but I was there none the less. My day didn't go too well if I'm being honest with you but my outfit was still on point and I loved how different it was from my Day 1 look. I wanted to be comfortable and I wanted to channel my love of androgynous dressing and I think this outfit did both of these things perfectly.  On the search for a perfect blazer + trouser suit combo, I found these * check trousers and am happy to report; they are great! I love the fastening, the fit and the split hem at the base of each leg. These trousers come with a matching blazer but I decided to add a full Herringbone overcoat to this look and then simplify the look with a statement tee .  I have to give kudos to Mango for the styling of this outfit. I saw a model on their site wearing a similar outfit and decided to do my own version of it. Taking inspo from the styling on sites is a great way of refreshing your look. Shoutout to ZARA for their AW17 stylin...

LFW SS18 Day 1 - Outfit

As you all know, I love fashion and London Fashion Week couldn't have come at a better time because I was in a huge fashion rut and I needed to switch things up desperately.  Cue my LFW Day 1 outfit.  In the lead up to fashion week I made some mood boards and read up on lots of SS18 print/fabric/fashion trend predictions. A particular print trend that caught my attention was a Cubist, primary colour-esque trend. Think Abstract/Expressionist Art, Mondrian stripes and all things red, yellow and blue.  A trip to Marks and Spencer's and ASOS gifting suites meant I was fully kitted out for this season and boy did I pick up some goodies. My outfit for Day 1 started with this incredible mustardy, goldy velvet pleated skirt . I've styled a pleated skirt in a variety of ways here on my blog (see this post and this post ) but I feel like I went wild with this look. I can't wait to wear this with roll necks, fine knit jumpers, thick tights, trainers and tee's...it's def...

LFW AW17 DAY 4

- Day 4 of London Fashion Week - Waking up refreshed in the Hilton Bankside was an absolute joy. It definitely made it easier to face the busy day ahead. I have to admit, considering the amount I had done all weekend; I still had some umph in me. I think it's because I was enjoying myself SO much. I laughed non stop for the entirety of LFW, I was surrounded by fashion and just living my best life really! [ I've seen a number of articles and blog posts suggesting that plus size girls/men shouldn't attend LFW and that there is no place for people like us at London Fashion Week. I could discuss this for hours but all I'm simply going to say on this is; that is a load of bollocks. Just because I happen to have more fat on my body than the average person and just because the clothes being shown don't fit my body; whose to say I can't experience the excitement and thrill of LFW. I have worked in the fashion industry since I left University of the Arts and I know my s...
